Garuda Astra
(also known as Garudastra, Garuda Astra)

Garuda Astra is a celestial weapon in Hindu mythology. It was used by Rama in the Ramayana to defend against Naga Astra, as Garuda (the hawk) is a natural enemy of the Nagas (snakes).

Garuda Astra can also refer to an ordinary arrow with "wings" designed to give the arrow more lift and travel farther. Intercepting arrows with arrows is a common occurrence in Hindu mythology and the arrowhead is also well designed to break other arrows in flight.
