Ochain (also known as Ochoin)
In Irish mythology, Ochain ("the Fair-ear") is the shield of Conchobar mac Nessa. It is described as having four golden borders, and stood up to the mighty sword Caladbolg in combat. Despite the shield's performance, Conchobar was at the mercy of Fergus but was spared by Cormac Cond Longas who begged his master Fergus not to slay his biological father Conchobar. Fergus instead swung high and lopped off the tops of three hills.
In "The Cattle Raid of Cooley", Conchobar mac Nessa surrounded himself with the finest warriors of the land. A list of their shields is documented in the manuscript:
