The xiphos is a double edged short sword used by the ancient Greeks. It has a leaf shaped blade that made it an effective cutting weapon in addition to a stabbing implement. Greek warfare relied heavily around the use of spears, the xiphos was used only after the spear was broken or discarded, or if the formation broke.
