Time Period: 18th-19th century
Location: Britain, United States
Common Construction: Steel

The spadroon is an officer's sword used by British and American forces beginning in the late 18th century. The blade is straight and slender, and was used by both infantry and cavalry between the 1790s and 1820s.

Sword classification is difficult during this time period due to the lack of standardization among swords. Officers were frequently allowed to choose their own swords, or given very limited restrictions as to which styles were acceptable. Spadroons often have a squared guard, although the term spadroon refers to the blade and not the hilt.
