The morion was a foot soldier's open helmet that saw widespread use among pikemen throughout Europe. morion's were relatively cheap to manufacture and made a perfect helmet for rank and file soldiers.

Some morions were lavishly decorated and made better artwork than helmets. This helmet is stereotypically associated with the Spanish conquistadores, although it was used by many European nations.
