Location: Europe
Common Construction: Cloth stuffed with canvas, cloth or hair

The jack is padded jacket that attempts to bridge the gap between civilian wear and protective armor. In many ways it looks like a doublet, but the jack is usually padded with layers of linen, wool, or hair. Some jacks even have metal plates sewn on the inside over vital organs such as the heart.

It is sometimes referred to as the Arming Doublet, Arming Jack, or Padded Jack, but generally all these terms signify the same object.
