Sabotons (also known as solerets)

Saboton is a general term for armor that covers the top of the foot. Sabotons usually refer to European armor, and they were just one part of a complete suit of armor for European knights. While most examples are constructed of flexible plates, they can sometimes be constructed out of mail.
